# How We Protect Your Personal Information
When you ask for an insurance quote, you hand over a lot of personal details — your name, address, date of birth, driving history, sometimes your Social Security number, your home's value, or your business's payroll. That's a lot of trust. At BNW Services LLC (dba InsureToday24), we take it seriously. This page explains, in plain language, what information we collect, why we need it, how we guard it, and what rights you have.
We're a licensed independent insurance agency serving Missouri and Kansas (and parts of Nebraska). Being independent means we shop your quote across many carriers to find you a good fit. That shopping is exactly why we have to collect and share certain information — and why protecting it matters.
Why We Collect Your Information
Insurance is priced on facts. To get you an accurate quote instead of a guess, the carriers we represent need to understand the risk they'd be covering. That means we may collect:
- Identity details — name, address, date of birth, and sometimes a Social Security number (carriers use it for identity verification and credit-based insurance scoring where state law allows).
- The thing being insured — your vehicle, home, rental, business, or life basics.
- Risk history — prior claims, driving record, property condition, or business operations.
- Payment information — handled through Square checkout for site payments.
We only ask for what's needed to quote and service your policy. If a question doesn't help us get you covered, we don't ask it.
How We Protect It
Federal law — specifically the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA), enforced in part by the FTC — requires financial institutions, including insurance agencies, to safeguard customer information and to tell you how we share it. Missouri and Kansas have their own insurance-data privacy and security rules layered on top, overseen by the Missouri Department of Commerce & Insurance and the Kansas Insurance Department.
Here's how we put that into practice:
- Limited access. Your information is only seen by the people who need it to quote, bind, or service your policy — your agent, Billy, and authorized staff.
- Secure transmission. Quote forms and embedded apps on insuretoday24.com — like ePremium for renters and BackNine for life and annuity — send your data over encrypted connections. Payments run through Square's PCI-compliant checkout, so we don't store raw card numbers on our own systems.
- Need-to-know sharing. We share your details with carriers and underwriters so they can quote and issue your policy. We don't sell your personal information to data brokers or marketing lists.
- Lucy, our AI receptionist. When you call or chat with Lucy at (573) 594-5148, she collects only what's needed to help you and routes it to your agent. A real licensed human reviews and handles anything that affects your coverage.
When We Share — and When We Don't
To do our job, we pass your information to:
- The carriers we represent, so they can quote and underwrite.
- Service providers that help us run the business (for example, payment processing through Square).
- Regulators or courts, when the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it for unrelated marketing without your okay. If your policy ends, we still protect the information we kept on file the same way we always have.
Your Privacy Rights
Under GLBA and state law, you have meaningful rights over your information:
- The right to know what categories of information we collect and who we share it with — that's what this notice is for.
- The right to access and correct your information. If something on file is wrong, tell us and we'll fix it.
- The right to ask questions about how your data is used at any time.
Some carriers and credit-based insurance scoring also fall under the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), which gives you additional rights if information from a consumer report affects your rate. If a carrier's decision was based on such a report, you're entitled to know and to dispute errors.
A Few Smart Habits on Your End
Privacy is a two-way street. To keep your information safe:
- Share sensitive details only through our official site, insuretoday24.com, our phone line, or directly with your agent — never with someone who cold-calls demanding payment or your SSN.
- Be cautious of emails or texts claiming to be "BNW" that ask you to click an odd link. When in doubt, call us at (573) 594-5148 to confirm.
- Keep your own copies of policy documents in a safe place.
Questions? Talk to a Real Person
If you ever want to know what we have on file, how it's used, or how to update it, just reach out. Call or text (573) 594-5148, or start at insuretoday24.com. Lucy can take your request any time, and your licensed agent will follow up. Protecting your information isn't a checkbox for us — it's part of being the kind of local agency you can trust with the details that matter.
